Looks like average sat is 2140 and average unweigted gpa is 3.87.

This happened when I attended UVa in the mid-90s. A classmate, with average stats, got in. Her relative had a close relationship with a professor in the art department and got the classmate and interview. My classmate got in ED, but had to major in art, that was how she got in, on her art portfolio/relative connection. She was a good high school artist, but not a prodigy.

I don't think you understand how that works (Asians don't benefit from affirmative action bc they're not underrepresented).

Nevertheless, agreed that no one knows the how or why, and there's no point getting concerned about it.
