A nurse with 2+ years of solid hospital experience can go anywhere. A nurse with a few years experience and a MSN can go anywhere and make a good salary.

Engineering is hot when you are young. When you get to 40+ it's very hard to find a job easily if you get laid off. Know many friends, even in the DC area, who have had this problem.


This is a good point to reiterate.
