I am sure. The PP noted that these were high HHI. As you obviously well know, 500k is not high for a Biglaw equity partner. A high HHI for a Biglaw equity partner would easily be well into the 7 figures, even with a SAHS (I say spouse because I know a few families where mom is the equity partner)

We have a HHI of $200K, mostly even between myself and my husband. I'm a fed and he's at the World Bank.

I think we can get to $300K in the next five years, but we'll be capped out after that - just relying on COLA increases. If we wanted a big jump in income, with one of us earning $200K sometime soon, then we'd need to switch sectors and work more hours. We're happy with the work-life balance, and lifestyle, our current careers afford us.

But even associates and income partners are relatively high earners if you're talking big firms. 160k at 25-26 years old and 350k-450k by mid thirties seems pretty good to me. It's not the million plus that more senior equity partners make, but not sure why you assume those folks aren't on DCUM as well.

There are a lot of lawyers in the dc area. I think many of the high HHI figures you see here are those.

Yes, we've both been metro operators for years. DH moved into the ROCC (control center) and is a controller now so that was a nice bump.
