I'm definitely seeing more dark underneath and more subtle highlights and less dishwater blonde like the poster above mentioned.

A lot of dark underneath, but still the blonde highlights. So I don't think they're going anywhere. The dark underneath looks nice and is the opposite of the roots-grown-out look!

I think this looks really cheesy. The color is wrong for her and the highlights start too low. Is this what's "in?"

No, this is not what is "in". This is very early 2000s. See the balayage photo that a PP linked to. For me, that's much more current.

I don't highlight these days (expensive and I do get natural highlights from the sun), but I will when I start to get grays. I don't think it's out. I think bad dye jobs are out.

Those women are blonde, not brunettes with blonde highlights.

I don't know about Hudson and Lively, but Witherspoon is about 40 years old now and the days of her being a natural blond are over. Look at her roots. If she grew her hair out it would be brown, not blonde.

I grew up blonde but I'm 47 now and my natural hair is brownish with a few grey hairs. That blonde dye isn't just highlights. It's hiding brown and grey. WHICH IS TOTALLY FINE. She looks beautiful. But she's no more naturally blonde underneath that dye than I am, unless you mean, like, "blonde in your soul."

Nonsense, blonde will always be in. And if you have naturally dark blonde hair but are getting some grays, highlights blend them in. That bay algae thing won't help with that at all.
