Ugh so many of these are awful. I've had friends try iterations of so many. Sorry to be mean, but if you want a truly easy name that won't be butchered you have to go with:

If you want a little wiggle room and don't mind minor mispronunciation/confusion, you can have:
Dhillon
Shaan
Aron
Niam
Ash

Kiran means ray of light and can be a girls or boys name.

No, it's traditionally a boy name but many girls are also named this, it has become a unisex name.

There is a purpose to to asking again after some time has passed because there will be other readers that can give suggestions. That's why there are many similar threads regarding American names as well. Otherwise there should be a baby boy and girl name sticky at the top of the forum.

I love Ashok. I'm not really familiar with Indian names to be honest. Definitely a name that can be shortened. I'm Arab and my parents gave me a difficult name to pronounce here. I still dread saying my name out loud sometimes because most everyone can't pronounce it right! It's so annoying to deal with this.

Well, just asking for Indian names that are easy to pronounce and spell is a pretty standard query, so why reinvent the wheel. Other name posts are more specific, like, "My son is named Jehosephat, and I need some ideas for a girl name that starts with a Q and has three syllables and doesn't end in "a." So there aren't a lot of posts to re-post.
