Macomb st hill is plowed and salted to the bone as is Reno/ 34th, Porter, Newark, Ordway, 35th st AND all of their sidewalks cleared by a snow blower

OK, so the commuter roads and three other streets that lead to schools, so you were overstating it when you said "Cleveland Park is fully plowed."

If there are schools on Ordway, Newark, 35th Sts., that's news! Porter and Macomb are more major streets admittedly.

What the city can do is fine heavily property owners that don't clear their sidewalks. But I can't see how that would logistically happen immediately after a storm (i.e., I can't imagine the city sending out code people to issue citations on the Monday after a blizzard).

In our Ward 3 neighborhood (not Clev. Park) we had to pay private contractors to clean the back alleys and secondary streets yesterday. OP might consider mobilizing neighbors and paying contractors rather than bitching about Cleveland Park

DC seldom, if ever, clears the alleys anywhere - which can be a problem is that's where your trash and recycling is collected.

I'm not " bitching about CP" , PP, I do however bet that if your child or parent or husband needed emergency medical care, you'd want to be able to go to a hospital that was stafffed with enough nurses and doctors to care for them and those nurses live in neighborhoods of DC that have not been plowed. Many of them might work in FFX and can't walk to work or take a bus.

Similarly, I assume you want your ward police station fully staffed. Have you considered that the cops who patrol your neighborhood , don't live there and need the streets to be cleared so that they can get to work.

IF CP residents can afford to hire contractors, good for them, but they should not have to. The city should be doing it, but on a priority basis , based on , wait for it, where essential workers live, not where teh political influence lives.

I doubt that a lobbyist in CP is going to be able to cardiovert you husband if he has an MI.

OP, instead of bitching left and right, why don't you either a) call 311 or b) learn from what multiple people here have said, and mobilize your neighbors

I can see Reno/34th and Macomb being priorities, but it's not like Newark, 35th or Ordway are major streets at all.

DC doesn't clear sidewalks, and they certainly don't use snowblowers. That must be adjacent property owners.
