I always knew I wanted children. DH and I both talked about how we wanted a large family during premarital counseling. After marriage though, he wasn't interested for several years. We will be having our first baby on our 5th wedding anniversary. We waited to: finish grad school at night, buy our second home that we could bring babies home to, save leave for maternity leave (I could only save 9 weeks though after 8 years of working), save money.

I really wanted to have children in my 20s, but life is expensive!

When my now-ex threatened to leave me if I didn't fulfil what he saw as my obligation to have kids with him.

Then he did absolutely nothing as a dad.

Glad I have my child but ladies, don't do it until you're sure your partner will participate.
