What a great location! Centralized, easy access to public transportation.

To be clear:

"We have arrived at a preliminary agreement to terms with Howard University for a long-term lease of the school building at 1240 Randolph Street, NE, Washington, DC, 20017. We have begun the negotiation to develop the final contract and the goal is to complete negotiations and have an executable contract in 30 days."

So it sounds like its a 90% thing they wanted to bring the school community in on, but its not signed, sealed, and delivered yet.

Just announced--working on a lease at 1240 Randolph Street, NE. The location was Metropolitan Day School and is close to the Brookland Metro Station.

It was in the opposite direction of everywhere I needed or wanted to go. No viable public transit so required me sitting in traffic which I absolutely hate (and why I am an urbanite), there was a lack of natural light. But the state that finally broke the camel's back is when they started making the kids play on a dirt pile.

I very much trust the school will find a good location and succeed, but I couldn't wait it out. My kid is only young once and he needs outdoor time. We moved to a walkable school with lots of green space.

Do we know yet?

And the GIGANTIC open-air mound of trash (made up of old, demolished buildings - asbestos, lead galore. I'm at lee and there was some worry (on dcum, not in real life) that Lee was considering that spot. There's not a lot of reasons I'd leave the school, but choosing TOL building as home is one of them.

It's nowhere close to the Hecht warehouse. Do you even know what you are talking about?

Tree of life space, environmental issues aside... Is really close to the ivy city developments. I'm impressed with the Hecht warehouse plans enough that I wonder if that location might actually turn out to be great.
