Also.all right. No such word as alright.

Bothers me alot.
I caught that one!

It's surprising how many people think "alot" is a word. And according to The Elements of Style, "alright" is not correct.

Sure there is. Just as there are the words altogether and already. Both forms have been used for a long time.

Well, there is choose.

I stand corrected.

All thumbs on iPhone. Since it's an actual word it doesn't autocorrect.

This misspelling bothers me more than any other, and is extremely common. It seems that more than half the time in any user forum that "loose" is written when "lose" is intended. ( But you never see people write "noose" when "nose" is intended. )

That's probably because that thing on my face that I use to breathe, except when I have a cold, is not pronounced "nooze".

True, but there are no words ending in "oose" where the "s" is pronounced like "z" (goose, caboose, moose, loose), so why would anyone think to spell "lose" as "loose"?

And I don't believe it is an autocorrect issue. The word "loose" won't be suggested unless one has already written "loo".

Really, how do you say roose? Im sure its (rüz)

As in Roose-evelt, the way my grandfather pronounced it? Rhymes with moose.
