She told me where it was. Its a private instructor who has a gym out in Howard County. I actually called the guy to see if I could sign up (to verify), but he has not returned my messages or emails for over two weeks.

My plan is to hire sitter and go there myself to see.

This is the first thing I thought, as well. She's gotten into kink-BDSM with someone and they are meeting once/week for an all-night session. Married women love this stuff.

Crossfit/soldierfit/TRX Training classes don't last for six hours

OP, does she have a lot of bruises on her butt? Also look for bruising or markings on her wrists and ankles. These would be from rope or other types of restraints.

Good luck, OP. But I fear you will not like what you discover.

Also, pay attention to inner thigh bruising. That will be a pretty clear indicator of her "activities."

Couldn't you just ask her?

This is also what I don't get. You haven't asked her exactly what she's doing, when and where it is? Super weird, Op. And I say this as the wife of someone who does a lot of this type of race. Plus, training groups for them this far in advance don't even really exist.

There's something weird about your relationship, and it isn't just whatever she's doing at night.

Anonymous wrote:Are you in the DC area, OP? It doesn't look like Tough Mudder will be coming here in the spring, but Warrior Dash has an event on May 14:

Training in the dark seems dangerous and unlikely, though. Here is a suggested training schedule for the Warrior Dash: http://gregsbootcamps.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Warrior-Dash-Training.pdf which I guess could leave some bruises, but not sure how on her hands.

You said you checked money-if she's doing a group training program, did she pay for it? It seems unlikely that it was free.

I am now far too invested in this than I should be. Please come back and let us know what is going on!

Interesting. So its sounds like she may be misusing the term "triathlon." She never done anything like this, so I would not put it past her to mess it up.

It very well could be this Warrior Dash. I will ask her the name of the event. She has come home dirty some weeks, but not like someone who has been rolling in mud like in the pictures I have seen. More on knees and butt. It also doesn't explain why her bruising would be concentrated on her knuckles. Would anyone training for these events have a reason to do combat? Is there an obstacle that requires powering through somebody?

I'm hoping this training explains it. I feel like if she was fighting, she would have blood on her. She wears dark clothes, so it may be hard to see.

This is absurd. I did one of these. It doesn't require any special training. Why don't you just tell her that you don't buy it, OP, and ask her what the deal is? I can't imagine any training group would go that late.

She is describing CrossFit or SoldierFit.

She probably uses that night for crosstraining.

For god sakes, google crossfit/soldierfit. You will see it is hard on the body.

It is a bit strange as there should be a credit charge charge from what ever she is doing. I'd put find my friends or another tracker on her phone if you can.

Buy a phone that tracks location and put it in her car so you know where she goes or figure out how to use your phone to track her and put your phone (on mute) in the back of her car. Then post back her location and we will all help figure out where she went.

I was actually going to say this except apparently there's some kind of feud between the Tuff Mudders and the Triathletes?

Triathletes are the absolute worst so I'd be surprised if there is anyone they're not feuding with.

I did this. We have actually gotten into arguments about it. She says she does a lot of "crawling" type of exercises to build core strength. She try also lift heavy objects and carry them. They use some kind of rope for working out. And she says its partially outdoors, which means shes doing some of this stuff in the dark. The cheekbone bruise last night was apparently from her accidentally hitting a rope against her face.

I asked her what kind of triathlon is this? I thought triathlons were swimming, running and biking. Shes says what shes doing is more extreme, and its going to take place in next Spring by the companies to do the Tuff Mudder(?) type races.

Still don't buy it- hence the increasing desire to hire a sitter next week.

Ask her which Crossfit she's going to and call there and ask for her - say you tried to call her mobile but it went straight to voicemail.

Training for a triathlon ONE night a week is the athletic equivalent to training for the Masters by putting into a lowball glass in your office.

If she's training for a specific race, is it on the calendar? Oh wait, this is one of those grueling races that she can show up for on the morning of and be home that night.

You're married to a really bad liar. For the sake of all concerned, please stop casually asking her and giving her the reasons to lay low and get that babysitter.

Whatever legit exercise she's in to, she has no reason to lie about it...
