Yeah my DD also confirmed the incident. I was skeptical too but OP has been right all alone. BTW there are several ways a 6th grader could end up at 8th grade cafeteria. Hall pass, meeting a teacher at the cafeteria, 3rd period quiz spanning the recess, coming late to school and missing lunch break etc etc.

OP: DS came home that day saying there was a major fight at 8th grade lunch but he was in a teacher's room and didn't see anything. Surprised we didn't get a call from the school, as principal called previously when there was a serious incident.

One thing about your post is curious, though. 11-yr-old at 8th grade lunch? TPMS is usually really great about keeping 6th graders away from the older kids. How is an 11-yr-old in 8th?

My 6th grader didn't mention it at all.

There was another incident in a chorus class today. Security had to be called and a child was being bullied in class by numerous kids. He was crying hysterically. My dd felt terrible. A sub was teaching.

LOL! You are so right about that... my kids martial arts studio had an instructor flee the country after the police found videos of him molesting young boys.

One of the parents, who had a boy (he was not molested) told me that she hoped the instructor could get help, held him blameless, it was his environment, childhood, etc. This was right after she told me that she went through texts that he had sent her son that were inappropriate. I was like WTF? The pervert should be drawn and quartered.

At a parent meeting they blamed the police for not arresting him early in the investigation, like the police were negligent. Seriously do you not think a sex crimes division would delay arresting anyone they legally could?

I was on the TPMS listserve when a 7th grader was arrested for dropping a bag of pot in front of a security guard. The community was in an uproar because the principal called the police and the kids got suspended.

The thinking patterns of people around here astound me. I consider myself to be a liberal but geez...

Actually, they don't get into fights at Hoover. I had two kids go through there, one just finished last year, and they told me they never saw kids fighting. Do kids get in trouble for doing other stupid things typical of adolescents? Sure, but my kids never felt unsafe at school and no one has been offering them "designer" drugs though I'm sure they exist all over the county. Sorry to burst your bubble.

There are MS-13 kids in multiple middle schools right now. You do realize the Honduran refugees that were placed throughout the county are about 3-4yrs behind in school . So there are 14-16yr olds in middle school right now and are very active in gangs. They are from violent countries and find refuge and family in a gang. The El Salvadorians are welcoming them to increase numbers. The PP's question is not out of context. A freshman 17yr old refugee at Gaithersburg High School killed a man in cold blood just a few weeks ago.

I attended a public middle school in the 80s in an extremely wealthy town. There were fights between (white) boys where blood was left on the floor, fights where a gang of (white) girls tried putting cigarettes out in another (white) girl's ears and one kid put a bomb device in a bathroom and guess what, he was white too.

I attended a middle school and high school with less than 5% farms rates. I remember no fights in middle school and 1 fight in highschool. Never saw a girl fight. Ever.

I would like to know more about the kid who grabbed a clump of hair.
