Eating dinner in the car is very strange.

I think OP was answering that she lives in Vienna because it's cheap...no one asked her why they get fast food.

LOL! You must not be looking at the right foods. There are plenty of meals out there that can be used for the following night's dinner or lunch the next day.

I can't remember ever eating dinner together in the car, unless it was a road trip situation or an emergency (we have family that live about 2 hours away and sometimes they need us due to a tough situation).

OP, isn't eating at home way cheaper than takeout?

We meet up after work and then come home together. Put on music, make dinner, eat together, take turns cleaning the kitchen. Sometimes afterwards we go to the gym, or to a concert, or something else like that. Sometimes run errands.

Being married is super awesome, because DH and I love spending time together at home talking, laughing, playing with the pets. We even work together GASP and own our own business. Being a homebody is fine if you're married to someone who also likes being at home! If you like going out, well, date people who have a similar social drive or adjust to the idea of going out alone. Who are you to judge the success of someone's marriage based on their weeknight routine??

On a regular basis (sometimes we do take out/go out to eat) but normally our nights go one of 4 ways:

1. I get home first, relax and do alittle housework (I get home at 4 DH gets home at 6) Dh gets home, we catch up a little bit on the couch then DH relaxes a bit while I start dinner. At some point depending how how DH's day went, he will come help me cook. Then we put our phones away, eat, then put on the TV and veg/talk about what we're watching. We like shows that spark a conversation vs just zoning out

2. Same as 1 except we play a board game or maybe play some car racing games on the playstation

3. Same as 1 except after dinner we both retreat to do something on our own. We both have hobbies we can do from home and sometimes we just go to those for a couple of hours

4. DH gets home and sets up for grilling. Then we hang out while he grills and then finish the night one of the ways mentioned above.

Weekends we are rarely home but during the week we are home bodies.

I am an introvert. I still eat like an animal. Have some self respect, OP.

That would be the perfect slot to catch a yoga class and then take a nice long shower afterwards. You might even convince your friend to grab a quick drink with you afterwards a night or two a week.

Cool. Try to recruit a friend to go with you! If you are the introverted type (I am too, so I get it), having the structured class can really take the edge off of having to keep a conversation going, but you still feel like you're sharing an experience with someone.

It's also a great way to *make* a new friend. Because if you invite someone to take a class with you, it's super low pressure and not awkward. It's just a class.
