Is the most common response on DCUM to having a disagreement or having a problem ... "You need therapy." Can we dispense with this trite armchair analysis? I mean I must see the suggestion in almost every relationship topic that is posted. It annoys me so much that I think I need therapy.

Turn this into a great story. A great story of triumph over a narcissistic monster man and his kooky girlfriend (who apparently still wants him after she knows he's a cheater). What pathetic losers they both are.

I would recommend therapy so that you can kind of analyze the progression of the relationship and find out where there were decision points when you could have gotten more information about him but didn't. Like -- did he have you over to his home? Why didn't you meet family after so long dating? Were you friends on social media?

(Ultimately, are you sure this gf is for real? Have you talked to him? I 100% think you should dump him, but I'm just curious as to why you assume that she's not just a maniac who's making this all up.)

OP it sounds like he was probably getting a high off of his duplicity and is a sadistic person.
