Various components of DOJ - no telework. GS 12.

We hotel at my office and it is great (USDA). To save on Space, employees office share. One will work 3 days a week in the office (two days at home) and the other will work 3 days a week at home and two in the office. It works out great for everyone. It is becoming more and more common for positions that can do it. For me, I am a GS-14 and telework 5 days a week. I do go into the office for meetings occasionally and I do have some travel, but I love the flexibility my agency gives me.

GAO now has extended telework that permits 8 days of telework per pay period.

GS-12. I telework periodically. My agency allows telework but would generally frown on teleworking more than 1x a week for people who work a normal 5-day-a-week schedule, and more than 1x every other week for people who work a 9/80 alternative work schedule. A lot of people telework every other Friday and have the alternate Fridays off.

Sharing a cubicle is hosteling. Some agencies do it that are short on space. Mine does, however, only contractors "hotel" share.

That would be me. IRS, teleworks 4 days/week. I have a ton of meetings some days and still telework; we use a variety of technology, so it works. This is the ONLY thing keeping me and many other employees there.

If you work in the intelligence community (CIA, DIA, NSA, etc) you cannot telework. However, those groups often score higher on the fed job satisfaction surveys. So not being able to telework shouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker. Other added bonus is that you aren't expected to always be "on" - you leave the building and you are done.,

Work at DoD. Agency allows 2 days per pay period according to new employee documents but don't know anybody who teleworks even though a lot of us can do our work remotely.

At my agency it very much depends on the supervisor. I can telework 1x/pay period. Others in my office who have a different supervisor telework 1x/week. In other offices people telework 2-3x/week.

My FDA office allows 3 days a week if you office share and 2 days if you have your own office (there is an office shortage).

I am so jealous reading these threads. No telework so far even though we've begged and pleaded. But hey, maybe in the future it's coming! We're in an open office now and it's horrific. I had to listen to a coworker discussing her husband's gray hair dye for over 15 minutes yesterday.
