It's been happening on my iPhone and iPad, though less frequently on the latter. It seems to be most often on the Recent Topics and Political Discussion Pages, and at any time of the day or night.

I hate to say this, but I think this issue may be specific to you for some reason. I'm not getting any reports of this from anyone else. Are you connecting from a home or office? I'm guessing it is an office. If so, do you know if there is a firewall or proxy server in use? I notice that you have these problems when there is a lot of traffic on the site. It could be that something happens under heavily-loaded conditions that is interacting with a firewall or proxy. You are then seeing the negative effects of that interaction.

Strongly what you are seeing has been observed by others with mobile devices rather than desktops. I can reproduce it myself with an iPad. I think I discovered the problematic ad that effects mobile traffic and I'm trying to get it filtered out. If that is also causing trouble for your desktop, both problems will get solved at once.

I was experiencing some weirdness around that same time. But, my browser never locked up. This will probably be hard to track down if it is so intermittent. But, I'll do what I can.

Thanks. I have to leave to take the kids to school, but as soon as I get back I'll look into this. A javascript that is not available would be a good explanation for what is happening.

It happens during the day too.

Happened twice in the past five minutes

I have a lot of processes running overnight, but this problem is very clearly linked to a specific ad network. I should just start turning it off overnight. I guess the only way I'll be able to troubleshoot it is stay up until the wee hours.

LOL. Ok - better put my desktop in my car so I can DCUM while I'm sitting in the pickup line.

Or you can wait till you get home, and read it then. Or read it at work if it isn't blocked.

I have very limited time for my online vices. Sorry - it's phone or nothing.

Yep, same thing happened to me. Even the waking up in the middle of the night part. I fixed it early this morning.
