Every fifth week I don't shop and we eat down the freezer, pantry, etc. this means we are good at improvising meals and snacks based on what is in the house.

I do that too from time to time, helps our budget a lot
but my must have list is a bit longer: To utilize/prepare whatever I have left in fridge/pantry I need olive oil, onion, and garlic on hand.
Also milk, any kind of fresh fruits, and lettuce/greens for fresh salad.

Cheese and some sort of carb to put it on - tortilla, bread, crackers, or any of the like will do.

I have a major sweet tooth too so there must be some sort of sugary product around.

Many similar responses here. Milk/almond milk (I don't eat dairy), eggs (which is a pita because we only buy them from a local farmer who's closed two days during the week, so we try to stock up), fresh fruit and vegetables.
