I liked the suggestion of Garrett, too, but I think Gerard works better with Philip because the stress is on the second syllable.

How about Garret means the same thing as Gertrude.
or a " G" name like Grant
Gertrude means strength or spear you could play on that and go with an attribute like strong. Philip Strong Last name.
