You realize he cut his hand on a bottle of Jagermeister, right?

It's show business. As long as his ratings are high and he's America's sweetheart, NBC execs couldn't care less if he snorts mountains of cocaine, drinks gallons of hard liquor, and screws hookers til the cows come home.

But at what point would this behavior impact his ability to do a five-day-a-week show? How long can someone sustain a "massive" cocaine and/or alcohol habit and keep their highly visible work commitments? I am genuinely curious. Wouldn't that require more than being a functioning alcoholic?

My impression from pop culture is that for comedians, addiction lifestyle is very doable.

Yes. John Belushi? Chris Farley? Noted addicts who just didn't make it.

Colbert is definitely doing "real interviews."

He does lip-sync battles for a living. It's probably better when he's high.

Yeah, if he can gloss over the serious interviews (does he ever do one?) then he can skate by with his stupid games and contests with guests. No one will notice he's high for a while.

It is when they fall down drunk 3 separate times and fuck up their hand each time.

Maybe if he kills someone or does what lamar did...but falling down? uhhh no. I guess there isn't much else to talk about that actually has substance though.

He's injured himself 3 separate times in public recently. You think that's normal behavior?
