That is prime ground for scammers. Every major catastrophe and other world event leads to tons of unscrupulous people trying to cash in by preying on people who want to contribute to a cause by making fake or very, very suspect "charities".
So while it lead to "perceptions" as the report said, it really was just the IRS doing its job.
Not only wasn't the IRS doing its job when it approved a bogus "charity" for Obama's half brother, but Ms Lerner personally approved it. Funny how that happens.
Maybe the GOP should convene a select committee to look into that
So you support the bogus charity and Ms. Lerner's approval?
I just pulled their 990s. It appears that it was a not very successful charity funded nearly in its entirety by a loan from Obama's half brother, which would not be deductible as a contribution because it is a loan. And for which it appears he was never repaid because the charity never got off the ground. This charity was approved by the Cincinnati office in the form of a standard letter with a stamp bearing Lois Lerner's name. Not exactly the stuff of which scandals are made. Sorry but another bust.
Thanks for looking in to that. The wingnuts are so tedious with their "scandals".
Guarantee you the original poster about that continues to spout his nonsense.

Does the GOP have anything to offer America besides shutdowns, inquisitions, and symbolic votes to repeal?
Of course:
Hooker scandals about loving to wear diapers while paying for sex,
Threatening to throw journalists off balconies in the Capitol,
Having gay sex in airport bathrooms,
Having gay sex with minor high school students while teaching and covering it up making payoffs by lying to banks,
The list goes on and on...
