^^ How can you tell if an OP disappears when they're anonymous?

Many of the posts on here are fake in my opinion. I've noticed quite a few repeat topics that are word for word. Also, there are too many OPs that disappear.

I think most of the posts are real. People tend to come to this forum when things go bad. I used to look at relationship posts a couple times a month just to feel better about my not so perfect marriage.

Then exdh had an affair and I came looking for some help and commiseration. This board was really helpful to me at that time.

I notice the same pattern frequently. People post the same questions when they first find this forum. Most are in difficult situations and often they have not spent any significant time reading this forum. So for them, these questions are new and fresh.

I stick around to try to offer that same support to newcomers. I'm sure there are trolls from time to time, but even those posts can offer good advice or maybe a laugh to someone who could use one.

I sometimes fake posts as performance art. I collect the responses and will be including them in a book I'm going to self-publish.

I doubt the posts are fake or from the same people. To the OP who questioned this, I hope you never have to deal with a big libido difference in an otherwise healthy marriage. It can become so toxic to the marriage it can kill the rest of what is working.

But I do agree there seem to be a few posters from both sexes who pollute these boards with projecting their own hate. It's unfortunate because there can be practical suggestions, or at least an opportunity to see things from another perspective and empathize with the position of the high drive/low drive spouse. But you can predict that within the first several responses, the haters will derail the discussion with one side telling the man he sucks in bed and the other side telling the woman she is a controlling bitch.

I just think this is an epidemic in our country.

After a certain amount of time, the excitement and giddiness goes away. Things go stale.

Couples tend to take each other for granted later on down the line and fall into their own comfort zones where they sit like couch potatoes.
