I call troll, no one calls it a church, it's a mosque

They just opened a beautiful mosque on Good Luck Road in Lanham, MD. It was built by the Turkish government and looks like the Blue Mosque. My husband went there for Eid Al Fitr and said it was beautiful. I don't know anything about what they offer though...though I heard there is a Sunday School.

ADAMS Center in Sterling is open for non Muslim. I always see them visiting/observing the prayers. The Imam is very engaging. Check it out for yourself.

This. I read that comment to mean that OP should consider that her child, despite being from a majority Muslim country, might not be Muslim by heritage.

honestly though OP, I don't think a mosque is like show and tell or a museum like look at how these people look. They take their religion pretty seriously. And they do not believe Jesus was the son of god or that he was crucified - they believe that the crucifixion was a lie to fool people. Per the Koran. I just don't see how you can even dabble in islam if you are christian. Its sad, but the 2 religions are pretty mutually exclusive. I mean, what would you say, you are there to show your kids what muslims look like?

I would leave it be and not go.

My mother got the impression that the mosque near the corner of Briggs Chaney and Good Hope Rd was like a christian/muslim congregation. not sure if that exists (we used to live nearby), but might be a place to check.

What Islamic country does International adoption? Ethiopia has some Muslims, but they are predominantly Orthodox Christian.

Oh please. Muslims, when they find themselves childless AND in the environment where adoption is legal, are as likely to adopt as anyone. One of our family friends adopted from Morocco and the other from the West Bank.

International adoption was mentioned previously, but not saying that OP risks having her children put up for international adoption!

No, someone actually did bring up international adoption in their reply, citing that muslims do not allow non-muslims to adopt.

I find it strange that some earlier PP's made it sound like by taking her kids to a mosque OP is risking having her kids put up for international adoption. Muslims here for the most part are just like very other american, they are not unfamiliar with what adoption is and what it means. Noone is going to find out they are adopted and run home to call their embassy and warn them of the 'madness'. OP is not saying she wants to take them back to their home country to learn, where something like that MIGHT be an issue.
