Burgundy or any colored washcloths bleed onto other items in the wash. I only buy white ones.

Exactly this.


Also, some brands will leave "lint" on your body if you haven't washed them first. Not good for guests.

Yes, I do.

It's just too gross not to. I mean, just think of all the germs as well as dirty hands that may have touched them previously in the store.

Plus, towels usually feel pretty rough when they are brand-new so I like to wash them first to soften them up. I used fabric softener & not too much laundry detergent.

Right? When I was at my brokest I would go old school and hand wash my clothes and other items in the bathtub.
