Scallops with a Chardonnay

Salsa, chips and guac with a herredura silver margarita no salt

Tiramisu with an espresso

Probably lobster with lots of clarified butter and endless champagne.

Maybe a Waygu Kobe ribeye, medium rare. With champagne.

Loaf of thinly sliced onion rings.

More champagne.

PP back to clarify. I made a double negative while waxing nostalgic about Granny's chicken.
Skinless tenders. I loved them because they weren't as greasy as fried chicken with skin.
I'm so freaking hungry now....
BTW, it has to be served on a Spode Blue Italian plate, because that's how Granny rolled.

Jesus people.

I know, right?

It's a fantasy question, and here is my fantasy answer. Which I've known for a long time....

I want my Granny's most delicious dinner. (RIP, Granny.)
Fried Chicken. She made it without skinless tenders, in a 50 year old cast iron skillet. Total magic. My mom and I have tried to recreate, to no avail.
Pan gravy.
Rice. (She always did rice, not mashed potatoes).
Green salad (leaf lettuce, no iceberg!) with a homemade red wine vinaigrette.
So. Good.
I like to think that instead of it being my last meal, it will be my first meal when I arrive in heaven.

It is impossible to recreate grandma's chicken. This is the rule of the universe. Our grandchildren will say the same.

Khargosh safeda (Rabbit in white sauce) with laccha parantha (flaky fried indian bread dotted with sesame seeds and kalonji).

Washed down with masaledar nimbu shikanji.

Phirni with kewda essence, garnished with slivered almonds and green raisins.

I will need to have this meal in another country though. Rasika continues to be uninspiring to discerning Indian palates.

Sounds amazing. Any Indian restaurants you *do* recommend, in the U.S. or not? I've only had transcendent stuff in home kitchens...

I think it would be hard to eat in that situation.

That said, I'd have sashimi and sushi with beer and ice cream for dessert.

Then nothing. I'd rather starve to death.

Alternatively, I'd go one of two routes:

Fast food: half smoke, Krispy Kreme donuts, and mint chocolate chip milk shake

Better: surf and turf, scallops, Crab Imperial, apple and walnuts salad, bruschetta with mozzerella, flan, cannoli & croquembouche, ended with Grand Marnier and cappucino

As someone with Celiac disease, I would go full gluten for my last meal:

French toast with real maple syrup
warm krispy kreme donuts
Clam Chowder with oyster crackers
Cheesesteak and cheese pizza from my favorite childhood pizza joint
Warm baguette dipped in olive oil, garlic, s&p
Toll House chocolate chip cookies
washed down with REAL BEER

God, how I could go on....
