And, as a teacher, names of former difficult students: Destiny, Jayden/Kayden/Brayden, Christian, Julian, Dominic, Anthony, Michael, Emma

I know Adolfs plural yes. Dh is in the FS, and we lived in Austria. Definitely more common there but it still carries a negative association IMHO.

2. Jews don't have an "Old Testament".

Ok. I'm not trying to cause trouble here. Yes, I do realize that Jews don't consider it the Old Testament. That is just the terminology that seems easiest here when talking about this particular story. It is in the text that Christians call the Old Testament. I just thought it was odd that someone said that the story wasn't Christian.

Say wha? The whole bible is Christian. Old AND New Testament. It's an Old Testament story, but yes, it is one that Christians are taught.

Jews are taught it as well.

Of course different religions have different opinions about what the "whole bible" consists of. For example, for Christians, Genesis is a book in the Old Testament. For Jews, Bereshit is a book in the Torah.

In any case, Christians do not have a monopoly on the text (whatever name you may give it) that the story of Cain and Abel is in.
