Another teacher here. I've received apologies (ranging from a simple "sorry about that" to "wow, I am mortified...DS has a LOT of explaining to do when he gets home") and truly appreciate it. We're all human with more than enough on our plates, and sometimes we put others on the receiving end of our frustrations. I have a lot of respect for those who own up to their mistakes, and it makes me much more comfortable working with them in the future. Sometimes I do feel like I work for parents, and we truly do need to be a team to help their children, so anything to keep this balance helps me in the end.

That said, I do hope parents remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar ...

At least two teachers posted that they never received apologies when parents realized they were wrong. The parents probably figure there's something else to be mad about.
