And then what happens is the kid does this with the icing, or some other time, where it's really inappropriate. Our girl scout troop made cupcakes. It completely grossed me out - several girls licking the spoons, their fingers. The Mom's were like, "oh, now don't do that!" No one seemed as concerned as they should.

Of course my kids like the beaters. It's one of the great joys of childhood. It's up there with sneaking off to the store with your friends and reading books with a flashlight under the covers.

Wow, I guess I'm in the minority. I will lick them but don't let my kids who are 3 and 5. I imagine I will when they are older but they are still so young.
