I hope you can see by now that your reaction was more about you, and maybe hormones being out of wack, than about anything your DH did. It's a little unreasonable to get so upset about a t-shirt (and coffee mug, if that was your understanding) sight unseen.

Maybe if this were the first time he said this . He says crap like this all the time. I am Arabic / Muslim and such talk, though it's starting small, I can't swallow this easy. Some Arab men DO believe they have more control over their wife. You can own an animal. No one can own a person.
