Is awesome because of the results you've seen from them? This over-hype is kind of funny. I wish I could place a bet on 90% of the over-hypers being gone at their first available opportunity.
It's funny. Before the boundary for Van Ness was set, some insisted that the line had to be drawn at South Capitol Street for the school to be good. Those folks, of course, lost. I wonder if they bailed or if they are now some of boosters who claim (with little or no evidence) that the school is now "great" anyway.

Who can say? Some may lottery into Brent for PreK4, some may decide to stay at Van Ness. I'd wager at least a dozen heading from Van Ness to Brent for K in 2017.

I also went to the orientation and was very impressed. Van Ness Elementary will be having their Back to School night next Wednesday September 9th. Anyone interested in the school should come out and meet the staff and families who are committed to making this a successful elementary school.

They look not visually obvious. Some of those "interested, engaged, speaking with their child's teachers, talking to other families" looking parents are simultaneously eyeing their low wait list number at their next preferred school.
Well that's the reality at many schools. The term September Shuffle wasn't coined because of Van Ness. And why does it bother you if a poster says she saw committed parents? We all know what you were hoping she'd answer with what commitment "looks like".
We ask know what the VNPG likes to use codes language for. It's the ick factor.
