What do you mean school? If this is for serious school credit DD would be old enough to call around and find a ride. Things happen.

It's not worth bad feelings between husband & wife.

There would be MAJOR bad feelings on my end if my kid had to skip school or find her own ride because her dumb ass father couldn't drop her off on the way to GOLF.

OP, please come back and explain this. Offer something that makes this makes sense, and not just that he's that much of a jackass and you're that cowed by him.

I'm guessing there is history here of wife resenting husband's free time.

And maybe more to drop-off than wife is revealing.

This is such a BIG deal that it's worth posting about? This is not the whole story.

Agree with both previous posters. Your husband sounds like an a-hole. In my family, hubby would offer to drop off. It would never occur to him that I should get out of bed with a fever and chills to drop of one of our DCs if he could do it -- even if meant taking time off work, much less en route to a golf game.

Your husband does not sound like a good father. Or husband.

Another DH here. I'm having a really hard time seeing why anything other than this is the right answer.

If you have a fever, you sleep in and get better. He covers and deals. How is this even a question?

+1000

He's going to golf. And he wouldn't even miss his tee time. I can't believe this is even a question.

How is this a question? You're sick and he can't make a stop that won't make him late when all he has to do is GOLF? Is this a work related golf event? If not, he needs to grow the hell up. If it is, he should still get over it if it doesn't make him late. I literally don't understand what his issue is? If my DH was going somewhere that early anyway and could drop our child without being late, he would do it even if I wasn't sick - why does EVERYBODY need to leave the house so early?

I think your husband should drop her off. I think you are capable of doing it, but it isn't fair to expose the kids in the daycare to your germs.

DH says it's no big deal for me to get up, get DD dressed and drive her to school. I think DH should do it so that I can sleep and not have to expose DD (and her classmates and teachers) to my germs.

I'll probably end up doing it, but I'm feeling annoyed. What would happen in your family?

Am I the only one trying to figure out why the kid gets driven to school instead of taking a bus?

Because there's no bus??

If it opens at seven, it sounds like daycare.

Anyway, of course your husband should take her. You're feverish. You should not have to get out of bed.

I would get up and help get child ready and fed, but dh would drive her to school on the way.

Of course there's different types of sick. If I were camped out on the bathroom floor, vomiting every 10 minutes, dh would have to do it all.

Do you normally take your daughter to school at 7am? Or is that just the time that before care starts?

If it is on the day and your DH will not miss his tee time, of course he should take her.

What should happen is your husband takes DD to school. Period. What it sounds like will happen is he will belittle you into doing it because he's a selfish ass.
