Your child is more likely to be a victim of violence in DC metro area, IMHO.

Would move to Ft Wayne.

Not sure what circumstances would get me to move to Tel Aviv at a minimum for two years I would need to be able to earn enough to retire when I moved back.

Can't you just explain your husband's job moves when you return to the USA and start looking for work? I would think any reasonable employer would be ok with that.


In addition, you might be able to do some work as private consultant counselor. Lots of Americans move to Tel Aviv, and I can imagine some of them might want the services of an English-speaking counselor that has worked with high school students. I imagine your DH's company offers a host of "relocation services" and part of that could be putting you in touch with some people that could advise on ways for you to approach work while there.

Fortune 20 conglomerate company - specifically working for one of their "sub companies" which is a medical device company that was started in Israel and then absorbed into a larger medical device company within the Fortune 20 company and the larger one has a major office for the area of expertise of my husband located in Ft. Wayne.

ONe of my best friends just got back from Tel Aviv visiting family and loved it. It's supposed to be awesome and super fun and beautiful and relatively safe for the middle east. I'd go if for a short period.

Here is the "con" list for me for Tel Aviv - I won't be able to work most likely (I am a high school psychologist) and worry about what they gap will look like when I try to reenter the workforce once we move back to the USA. Me too. I'm Jewish and from Indiana. You couldn't pay me enough to live in Ft. Wayne or anyplace else there. I'd go live in Tel Aviv in a heartbeat though and wouldn't mind retiring for a part of year in Israel.
