I make sure my working hours are close to daylight as possible. Have felt safe. That said-- I agree the recent crimes are troubling.
NoMa is... ok. I wouldn't live there. I wish there was a Vida or somesuch gym.

MORE commercial? There's a huge empty office building adjacent to the tracks, and one half-filled building visible on your right-hand side as you approach Union Station. And the Elevation apartment building looks half-full. Overall, I am not impressed with NoMa. It lacks some flavor--sure you can put up shiny (empty) buildings, but where are the tenants that command this new office space? NoMa still seems half-there to me. And all of the papers continue to hype it up, unfortunately. NoMa is not happening ,whatever people try to make it into.

Actually, rental space in that area is really pricey. It has increased substantially since the ATF headquarters relocated.

Worked there for the last year and it's great. I am very careful after dark, though. But I was also held up a couple of years ago at 17th and K street, NW at 7:30 PM, so proof that you need to keep your wits about you always. But during the day and normal business hours NoMa is great - lively, places for lunch, and very safe.
So, how is working for CFPB?
