Similar experience for me. Started high school at 4'10" and finished at 5'6". Added a couple more in college. And very late on my period, 15, nearly 16.
Did you have constitutional growth delay pp? I'm asking because that is what my Dd's ped says she has - she is 5 but her bone age is 3.5 and her hormone is normal. She says DD will grow slower but for longer, and that puberty probably will be late too....
no idea. I was pretty average for the first 7 or 8 years of my life, if I'm remembering those meticulous growth charts my mother recorded correctly. And then I just...slowed down. But, at 9 I started pretty intense sports training, which may have played a factor, and am fairly small-boned. My small size didn't cause too much concern, because my maternal grandparents were small (5'4" and 5'1"), as was my paternal grandfather (5'5"). Everyone was far more surprised when I grew so much in high school.
I didn't love being small, but on the other hand, I think I was much more emotionally ready to deal with my period at 15. I cannot imagine going through that at 10. It sounds awful, just awful. So that was a nice "bonus."
