Ha sorry to insult your preferred brand. =) My mom bought them for me when I first got my period, thinking they would be easier for me without an applicator, and I passed out the first time I tried to put one in. =) I can use them now if I have to, but I always remember that first experience!

Wow--on the list of things DH really doesn't give a damn about, this is really high up. He's the one to call from the store and ask what I want.

Self-checkouts are nice. At least you don't have to worry about "Price check on Super-sized, Tampons please!!" over the microphone.

When I was postpartum DH bought my pads. Even now if I need tampons/pantyliners I'll ask if he'll pick them up (if he's headed to the store). Why is this weird? Isn't that part of partnership?

Bigger question:

Will you hold DW's purse when she's in the fitting room, and if so do you hold it normally or do you hold it like it's an explosive device ready to detonate?

I'll cop to the latter, though it's a very infrequent occurrence.

DH couldn't care less, but I know plenty of men who do mind.

It comes down to whether you're the type to worry about what other people think, or not!

I had to have my husband do it last night on his way home. The littlest was in bed and I had one last one in the house. I just told him throw them in the basket and use self checkout. The comical part was texting him the picture of the exact ones I needed because he asked me "Do I get the ones shaped like pearls like on tv" and I was like NO.

No, because in that instance you're announcing to the world that you're married to a man who can't get it up. With tampons, a man is announcing that his wife is, in fact, female.

I'm a DH, and I don't mind necessarily. With self-checkouts, it's not really a big deal. Though there was one time where it announced what I was buying. I think I didn't move it to the belt quickly enough, but the computer announces "Move your...feminine products...to the belt." I could have done that.

The worst part for me is there are so many freaking brands and options. Of course, I didn't write my wife instructions down, thinking this would be easy, and I'm met with this absolute wall of pads and tampons. I think I stood there for five minutes scanning each shelf. Finally, a woman took pity on me, came up and asked me if I needed help, and when I told her what I was looking for, she found it in two seconds. Because of course she did.
