No. There's usually not much to celebrate.

Even if your child has had a tough year, he or she has likely had some successes. Emphasize the good things from the year and celebrate them and look for ways to improve the rough spots. The summer can be a good to build up confidence by doing some different activities and maybe learning some new skills in the outdoors.

Best wishes to you for a good summer and a better year next year.

Check this out for an extreme end of school celebration. She's been doing this every year since 2012.

As a kid I looked forward to a sleepover the first night and not worrying about having to get back on a morning schedule!

In Texas my friends neighborhood has a block party on the last day. Snow cone machine, Cotten candy, silly string, pie eating contests, water balloon fights, bouncy house, inflatable water slide. They go all out . Typically about 60 kids and there families show up.

Wish my street did that, we will probably do nothing here

This is a big deal for her because we almost never buy ice cream at the supermarket and the rule for after school snacks is they have to grow on the ground or in trees.

On the ground or in the trees? What....

Yeah. Produce. Fruit or veggie.

Has to include produce (hey, thanks for the definition, because I had NO IDEA what "produce" means), or can only be produce?

Gelato! We also get it the last day of camp, before school starts. And maybe some other days in the summer but it seems extra special for these two occasions. I agree with PP that not all fun has to come from junk food but we love gelato so why not enjoy?
