Notice that all of the young guys mentioned here are making good money and have good careers. That's why they were deemed acceptable.

I'm not seeing any examples of women who married younger guys because he was "so pretty" and sweet, even though he didn't really have much of a career. But men do that all the time. Women usually have zero interest in LTRs with men who don't have some kind of career.

All things being equal, young is better than old, but men in their 30s and 40s are more likely to have a decent career going then men in their 20s.

I married a man 4 years younger than me. He now makes more than me and was making 6 figures at 26. He is also very good looking. I feel I lucked out.

That's funny because many would say a woman with a handsome younger man and a nice career is winning. I certainly would. I'm 32 and would prefer 28-31 over 40+ by a loooong margin.

I agree; I don't get why someone would feel sorry with someone a couple years younger. I actually assume that women dating men significantly older couldn't find anyone around their age and had to go to old dudes.

Similar situation. Dh is four years younger but we met when I was 32. No big thing.

me too. I'm the same age as his older sister.

5 years younger here, he's the same age as my younger brother.

29 & 25 are pretty close in age.

I think it's when 25 year old men are with 40 year old women that people start raising eyebrows -- not that it really matters.

IMO, people are not numbers and if you keep an open mind, you never know who you will be smitten by.

You cannot be real.

Wow. The most in love couple I know the wife is 4 years older than her husband. She was 29 to his 25 when they met. Now they have two beautiful children and are the happiest couple on the neighborhood.

These close friends of ours also have a 3 year age gap. The wife is 3 years older than her husband and they seem so happy and in love.
Clearly there are men who don't give 2 fucks about a few years.

5 years younger. He's way more mature even though biologically younger. He often tells me to "act my age".

The Major issue in our relationship and causes the most problems is he doesn't understand monster ballads. It almost ended our marriage. We've made it through....

Tell that to my husband. He is 8 months younger and often makes comments-- Is so and so *my* age or yours? Oh, xx graduated in *my* year. LOL, he just does it cause he knows it ribs me. I do feel that my peers who are married to older men *have* more than I do. Bought a house earlier, had kids younger, etc. But it ain't no thing!

Good lord.

It is funny, but I was seriously dating a woman 22 years older than me. It ended when I started realizing that I wanted a family....

As for the health difference, she is still chugging along at 73....I am 51, and will be lucky to make 55 (cancer)

Another thing to keep in mind is that how you look at 35 is probably more reflective of how you will look at 45, 55, etc.

I've known countless people who were "hot" at 22 and not-so-hot at 35. I've also known people who have barely aged and look terrific. It really depends on the individual.
