What's insane is that DCPS supports bully principals and doesn't support excellent long time teachers and staffers who have dedicated their careers to DCPS. You have no idea what's going on in that school and it's pathetic that you are defending something you know nothing about.

You are crazy obsessed with bringing her down. To the point that you are coming across like an unhinged stalker.
No, she's crazy and a terrible administrator. Here's incident from her days in Illinois.
BLOOMINGTON -- A McLean County jury acquitted a Normal Community West High School graduate of felony charges that said he slapped his girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her neck last year when the two were students.
Antonio Beard, now 19, was initially charged with a misdemeanor after the May 2009 incident but faced a felony aggravated battery charge after prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor case. The felony case also was dismissed and re-filed by prosecutors before the trial.
Defense attorney Scott Kording criticized the McLean County state's attorney's office after Thursday's verdicts for what he considered a waste of judicial resources in bringing the case to trial.
"I think there was absolutely no need based on the dearth of evidence to file three separate criminal prosecutions against Antonio Beard. It's been a long road that we feel was completely unnecessary," said Kording.....
"We mess around like this all the time in high school. I was laughing about it and now here I am at the courthouse," the girl said after her testimony.
Kording challenged the testimony of Normal West Assistant Principal Carrie Broquard, who said she had a clear view of the incident from where she was standing in the doorway of the school office. The video showed Broquard behind a glass door initially, but she exited as the incident unfolded.
"Her memory is seriously flawed," Kording said of the administrator's account.
Broquard told the jury that the alleged victim was crying and upset after the incident. A disagreement in the lunchroom sparked the slap that resulted in criminal charges, according to the girl's testimony.

but this is common for elementary schools. we are at Murch, and drop off and pick up are on the playground. this to avoid the mess and safety problems of having hundreds of adults inside the school at pick up and drop off, and to allow the kids to be more independent. kids line up on the playground, the teacher pick them up outside and take them inside. are you saying that at Lafayette kids go inside by themselves?
as outsiders, it is difficult to assess the situation. other posters pointed out that the under the previous principal the HSA held a lot of sway and some parents almost ran the school. some parents also complained that there were some subpar teachers who were not dealt with, including apparently teachers (or aides, I can't remember) screaming at little pre-k or k kids. it this principal not good, or is she simply changing the long standing "power structure" at Lafayette?
it would be interesting also to know how the principal can "target" parents talking to their kids' teachers. does she beat them up? kick their kids?
also, at Murch we have teachers' e-mails, and since drop off and pick up are very busy times, we do not normally talk to teachers during those times (it's just common sense). we send e-mails and the teacher responds. are you saying that at Lafayette you cannot contact a teacher by e-mail? or that the Principal hacks into the teachers' e-mail and read them? also, since conversation between parents and teachers mostly concern issue with the kid and not gossips, why is the principal preventing parent-teacher conversations? is "does little Larla need more practice with sight words" a dangerous conversation?
it is hard to buy what these posters are saying
So, the union, teachers, staff and parents are all lying? Really? That's rich.
actually, so far I saw a blog of the teacher union. I did not see "teachers, staff, parents" , just a handful of anonymous posts. I also saw other anonymous posts saying that the new principal was a breath of fresh air and that she was against a small group of "powerful" parents used to get their way with the former principal. some of the things said about this principal are ridiculous and this makes difficult to believe all the charges. as I said above, dropping kids off and picking them up outside is normal and totally reasonable. the principal targeting parents who talk to a teacher is ridiculous and the poster did not provide any explanation on how that would happen. and what about e-mail (I have two kids in k and 4th at Murch and I think I may have talked to a teacher at drop off 3 times in all these years - I use e-mails or ask for an appointment - same for the principal). and a person who post the link to a child custody case does not really strike me like somebody with a real, objective argument against the principal (maybe she was one of the screaming aides who is finally being dealt with?).
How would you know this is ridiculous unless you have a stake in Lafayette? It's all true.
The union is trying to shed light what is happening in our schools since the Central office will not deal with it. Teachers cannot speak out because their jobs are threatened. Staffers have even less protection and will get fired for speaking out.

Anonymous wrote:Previous post shows the fact that the Lafayette Principal interviewed for 16 principal jobs in Bloomington, Illinois and did not receive one offer. The DCPS magically hires her for the largest elementary school in the district. This principal has harassed and bullied teachers and parents all year. Teachers are banned from talking to parents. The union has been trying to help teachers but everyone is too scared to even meet with union reps because of fear of retaliation. She constantly screams and berates staff. This is why Lafayette is listed in the blog as having a bully principal. If posters want to bash the union and teachers, perhaps they should dig a little deeper and look at the principals themselves.
