I think they're cute, but I also think of the Amityville Horror. So I'm not sure how well I'd sleep in one.

Exactly. Like that Fat Albert character with the hat over his eyes. I think they look so funny they make me laugh out loud! "Why don't we make the roof come down farther?"

Me, too. I'll always regret selling our 1930's Sears Dutch colonial.

I like the look of Dutch Colonials. In many cases, I like them more than just a box-y, plain looking colonial. We don't live in one, but would absolutely consider one if we moved.

I've always loved Dutch Colonials. So cute! I'm surprised to learn on this thread that not everyone loves them.

I love the real, traditional ones of wood or stucco that were built pre 1920s. If it is newer or made of brick or some faux siding, I would hate it. A brand new one made to look like the old classics, with high quality materials could be nice.

Truth is, I dont like much of anything anything built in that 1950-1990 era. Most is awful and cheap.

I think this house is so cute! I would go for it op, especially if the interior and neighborhood are nice too.

Yes that one is cute. Most aren't adorable like that and were built in the 60's-70s.

I like Dutch Colonials, even modified, more modern types. I may or may not live in a vaguely styled Dutch colonial.

Dutch Colonial = Amityville Horror house. Still like the style.

Our Dutch Colonial looks similar to this--wide front porch with roof that kind of slopes downward over the porch. So I guess there are different sub-categories of Dutch Colonial:

Dutch colonials look like houses wearing hats, with holes cut out for their eyes to see through.
