What qualifies a family for the "Discount rate" or is that the rate for a sibling?

I don't know what the current income is that qualifies you. If you really want to know the best source is always the school directly. I looked into it last year and I don't remember the exact cut off, I just remember that there was FARMS and then there was a whole income range between FARMS and "no discount". Call the school for the most accurate and up to date info.

$120 for before care, so you can be as high as $640 if you need both.

Compared to other DC public schools, that is expensive! Do any public schools in this area charge more than MV?

I think YY may be close, but not as high. I think the average is $300-$350. This is the sole reason we did not apply. Even if we can afford it, I can't respect a school that doesn't respect the needs of many families. Sure they give discount for poor folk, but there are many working poor families.

Wow, I hope you actually did a little more research before you dismissed MV. Did you know the sliding scale they have does slide for working poor families too, not just FARM families? But maybe it wasn't right for you for other reasons, so who knows...

LOL. Most people who get SNAP *are* the "working poor."

That too, but I think the PP who said they didn't even apply is not receiving SNAP. MV's sliding scale is not only for FARMS/SNAP - receiving families. You can qualify for less than the $420 even if you don't qualify for SNAP. The other PP was very judgemental without apparently doing their homework.

Is the $420 you mentioned the aftercare cost per month?

Also does MV run summer camp?
