My best friends are from college. Maybe because we lived together and had an opportunity to become closer. And also maybe because email became prevalent right around that time so it was easier to keep in touch after college.

Yes, my closest friends are from college, and one from high school. We are all over the country, but keep up and see each other several times a year. I also have a wider circle of not as close friends from college who I see from time to time and keep up with via holiday cards and social media. Definitely in the realm of folks that I would call/they would call me if they were in town and we'd get together.

My H is also an alum from my college.

Nearly 30 years ago, I was randomly matched with a roommate freshman year. After college, I moved to DC. She moved here with her husband about 10 years later. They now live less than three miles from me, and we just had lunch on Saturday.

However, I'm not friends still with others I knew in college, and I wish I was, but we have grown apart.

I have one friend from college and one friend from grade school. My closest friends I met through work or through having children.

I guess my situation must be different. My college roommate was so mean. It was like mean girls on our dorm floor. She and several other girls kind of ganged up on everybody else. So much so that I left that college after two years.

Two of my very best friends are from college - that was 30 years ago. I went to Smith College (out of state) and while none of us live near eachother (one in MA, one in GA and I am in VA), I am very close to them. They have been by my side in the best times of my life and the worst and I for them.

I have made other best friends since - but definitely, some of the relationships I made in college have been very important and life long (at least so far).

Went to a very conservative college. I'm still in touch with friends from those days, but their attitudes about anyone who doesn't share their faith and politics has led to me distancing myself.

I have many more friends from work and our neighborhood.

Yes. My closest friends are from college and professional school. We have stayed in the area and have supported each other through marriage, divorce, children, serious illness and everything else. I don't think we've mentioned physics in 20+ years.

PP here. Who says I am bitter? If anything, they are, as on some level I think they realize how foolish they sound rooting for The Team and still talking about Kappa Kappa K days, at the age of 45.

That is my point - we don't even talk about college! We became friends in college and then continued to grow together.
