How many UVA acceptances does Langley have each year just for comparison?

TJ Today newspaper publishes an annual edition that tells where seniors are going. It's available online. Class of 2014 included 1 CalTech, 1 Cal PolyTech, 10 Stanford, 6 Berkeley, 1 USAF Academy, 8 Michigan, 20 Carnegie Mellon, 12 MIT, 52 William & Mary, 65 UVA, 24 VA Tech, 4 Brown, 3 Harvard (one with gap year), 9 Princeton, 3 Columbia, 23 Cornell, 2 USNA, 6 GA Tech, etc.

The numbers show kids accepted or attending? If attending, it IS impressive... If accepted, not much so.

Posters were saying "I have to say the # of people going to top schools doesn't look that different from the non-magnet "W" school my son attends in Montgomery County...", "I agree. From so called #1 school in the country, not very impressive" and "NP - yes, really. It doesn't look that different at all." and others were saying "W" school is not similar to TJ regarding college acceptances. So, "W" school lost that argument. I attended Blair so I have lot of respect for Montgomery County schools but looks like "W" school is not in the same league as TJ.

I think TJ also send the most students to Cornell and Michigan.

Arguably TJ has the best college acceptance results of any high school in the country largely due to UVA and William and Mary. Also, TJ sends the most number of students in the country to Princeton and MIT based on the last five years results.

More TJ kids are choosing to attend Cornell and Michigan each year over "better" schools since they seem to be generous with merit based scholarship money compared to other top schools.

None of this is official and you probably won't believe me, but (about) 4 kids are going to Princeton, 3 to Stanford, 1 to Yale, 6 to Cornell, 5 to Duke, 2 to Brown, 1 to Caltech, 1 to Columbia, 4 to UChicago, 8 to Vandy, 4 to Wash U, 4 to Penn, 5 to Berkeley, 5 to Hopkins...

I expected way better from TJ considering they're a magnet school and have a bigger class. I have no idea where his classmates got in, just where they're going.

Money plays a major role for many TJ grads and some choose UVA/W&M over Ivy schools but typically the TJ grads attend as follows based on past several years:

About 90 attend UVA, about 60 attend W&M, about 40 attend VaTech, about 45 attend Cornell, about 43 attend Michigan, about 28 attend CMU, about 15 attend Princeton, about 14 attend MIT, about 7 attend UC Berkeley, about 9 attend Stanford, about 17 attend Duke, about 7 attend Yale, about 8 attend Brown, about 8 attend Dartmouth, about 6 attend Columbia, about 7 attend Penn, about 7 attend Chicago, about 6 attend Hopkins, about 10 attend Georgetown, about 4 attend Caltech, about 5 attend Northwestern, about 14 attend Vanderbilt, about 6 attend Harvard and the rest to other schools and service academies etc. so two schools do not look similar.

That's nice but that's not what this data says.
