I had pinworms in my early 20s. At first I thought all the little white things on my inner thighs were just tiny pieces of lint or cotton from my underwear. Imagine my horror when those things started MOVING!

I think I caught it early because I was able to get rid of it pretty quickly. The doc suspects undercooked pork from my date at Benihana's. It was a really long time before I ate pork again.

OP - I'm now completely mortified. How itchy was your rear? Are we talking constant? I'm now worried that everytime my bum itches, I'm going to think I've got worms.

I'm also never again walking outside without footwear, and I'm sure I'm having nightmares tonight of worms coming out of peoples mouths.

Clean every inch of your home. Wash everything in hot water and hot dryer. Bag up whatever can't be washed. Launder night clothes and sheets every day (don't shake the sheets). My mother had l worms also. I have no idea how she got them, but she also took some medicine that caused them to to come out of her mouth.

Those symptoms DO seem really common. How did the diagnosis happen? Did you have any skin lesions? Did the doctor suspect worms and make you do a stool sample?

I would imagine that you had some pretty bad diahrreah before you went to the doctor. Did you feel these things moving around in your stomach? What was causing you to have insomnia? Did you lose weight? How long do you think you had these things inside of you?

I was not aware that humans could get round worm. Are you sure you don't have tape worm?
