I suggest crate

Also my 3 week old baby flipped off the bed and landed face first on her head. She was fine. Still is 8 years later.

In my dog’s 16 years, I changed the rules a number of times. First he wasn’t allowed on the bed, then he was, then I had a baby and he wasn’t. Same with the couch. He learned and adjusted just fine.

Puppy is fine OP-- last night my dog was crowding me - I tried to move her and accidentally elbowed her in the face! I felt so awful- she kept shaking her head and seemed upset. Lots of snuggles and pets and was good as new.

As for the crate, start as you mean to go along. I assume the do will be sleeping with you for the next twelve years.

...but, (especially during coronavirus), you should practice leaving the dog in the crate while you go for a walk or do yard work. Otherwise you might promote separation anxiety and you won't be able to board your pup when we all eventually get to travel again.
