It's not as common but not exactly rare. Both my brothers (Korean) are married to white women as are all the Chinese guys I know including a neighbor who is married to an AA woman. In fact, I don't know many Asians other than people my parents age or who are not recent immigrants who are married to other Asians. Interracial seems to be the norm for both males and females.
Are you all asian-americans? Because the interracial marriage rate for american-born Asian men is almost as high as Asian women. Like in the mid 30% range. Like you say, its when you begin looking at recent immigrants that the proportions skew to the way you normally see the numbers presented.
Actually, we were all born in S. Korea but came here when we were little, 2, 4, and 6. You can look at education levels too. We all attended Ivy or equivalent and have MD, JD, or MBA from top 5 programs and most every Asian I know from a similar education background has a spouse of a different race.
