Soccer, cross country, water polo, swimming, wrestling, squash, hockey, baseball, crew, golf, lacrosse, rugby, tennis, track
I love Damatha, and really don't think everybody understand some schools are nationally ranked a few sports and really average
(WCAC average... sure they can beat IAC schools) in other sports. Also, just because they are football/basketball powerhouses does not mean they don't do academics and arts well.
Damatha and Gonzaga have a minimum of 1000 boys to fuel these teams, they are the best at it. It's not that hard to understand.
Smaller more expensive schools are much better at county club sports.
Gonzaga is good at both the $$$ sports but they also have country club kids so they are good at both.
If the poster is a current student of SJC, this is an embarrassment. I would say "they're" is great need of brushing up on basic elementary school grammar.

When I meet adults I like and admire in the area, they often went to Gonzaga. Funny, smart, and good at critical thinking/empathy.

We looked at St. Anselms for my non-sporty bright ds (who still likes to play and watch sports), but he did not want to go there. He liked the school spirit and community at GZ and wanted to be a part of it. He was also very impressed with the drama program at GZ.
We also looked at GP (he actually shadowed). After the visit, he didn't feel he would fit in, believe it or not he thought it was too sporty. I think GP has so few students compared to GZ that it would be easier to find friends at GZ. Also could be that he did not connect with the boy with whom he shadowed.
We didn't even consider DeMatha.

DD has a few friends at St. Anselm's. Last year they invited her to a mixer at school. After about an hour she was ready to leave. I asked her why, and she replied it was just too dry. ^ poster hit the nail on the head, introverted and nerdy, and there's nothing wrong with that. I wish my DD was more a nerd ten times over..lol

St John's has made great strides over the last few years, and we see some really competitive applicants from that school.
