Looks will fade. Most people gain weight as they age and if you're both in your 40s, he's not going to get ripped anytime soon. You said its only been a month and things are going well- I say keep moving on that path. If he's a great guy and the sex gets better, I think you'd be a fool for kicking him to the curb because he doesn't look like "your type".

I do think attraction can grow. So give it some more time. But I don't think you marry him if the attraction doesn't grow.

She's in denial about what she values in a man. She says her top 3 characteristics are integrity, good character, and humor when it's pretty clear that physical appearance is at least an equal if not more important concern to her.

Maybe she doesn't want to admit that to herself because she doesn't want to think of herself as superficial. But avoiding reality is going to result in relationship dysfunction.
