I have to say, anyone over 20 should not be wearing a ponytail. Ponytails and pigtails are for kids. I know I'm not in the majority thinking this but grown women with ponytails look ridiculous. (I am not the pixie cut hating troll by the way, I had a pixie cut for years!)

Or maybe you're not married at all but don't want to date the type of men who only date women with long hair.
Or maybe you don't want to date men at all. Either way, power to you! Style your hair the way you want to - whether its for fashionable or practical reasons.

My husband was completely supportive when I got a pixie. Yea, he prefers long hair slightly, but so what? He knows what I look like with long hair, now he knows what I look like with short hair. It's hair. It grows back. And having once had long hair himself, he completely understood the desire to get rid of it.

Wish I could do this. It's so cute. I have a pretty face (I think) but I think this cut looks best on women who have very small features. And who are thin. Delicate women.
I'm not butch but I'm not one with delicate features. This cut I am sure would make me look butch and unattractive. There's a pretty woman in my office who just did this and the reaction is more "yikes" than "cute!".

I have had that short Pixie cut for three or four years. Men stop me quite often to compliment my hair. It is so freak'n easy to maintain (with cuts every 4-5 weeks). But, in general, I do believe that most men prefer longer hair.
Find a stylist who is good with short hair -- you may need to switch stylists in order to get a really good short cut. I highly recommend Tom at Chaos in Bethesda.
