Beautiful name, OP. "Maisie" is a natural nickname and also adorable.

This is pronunciation that my friend uses.

The only reason why I opened this post was to find out what a 'mairead' was. When I was typing the name, my phone autocorrected to 'airhead.'

I know 4 Maireads, but they all rhyme with parade? Maybe that's just the Irish pronunciation?

Along those lines, I love Maeve, Moira, Niamh, and Aisling.

Also some Irish pronounce it to rhyme with "parade".

This is my friend's neice's name and she pronounces it this way (I'm assuming the little girl and her mom do too).

I personally think Mairead is a lovely, feminine name (rhymes with parade, not the way OP suggested), but Merrit sounds so harsh. Rhymes with ferret. Ick.

I was thinking Skye too. Or Isla. Both would have meaning but be easy to pronounce.
