Never stay in hotels. Lysol spray/ sheets from home for rentals.

Anonymous wrote:OP here. Not sure what I'm concerned about exactly. Certainly not concerned about structural issues, and it's not like anyone has been intimate on it or anything. I'm not concerned about bed bugs. They originate in wood furniture anyway.
If it makes any difference, as I mentioned, this was at a small independent shop, not like a Sleepy's or Mattress Discounters, so not nearly the traffic that one of those stores gets. It's just such a huge price difference. If it were just a few hundred dollars, we probably wouldn't do it.

+1. For half price I would definitely buy it. Because it’s so much cheaper, even if it got a bit of wear and tear, you can replace it faster because you spent much less. Also There’s some comedian who does a really good routine making fun of people who say that they would never buy a mattress that has been used by one owner but don’t see an issue staying in a hotel bed that has been slept in by 500 people.

I didn't scan it with a black light or anything, but frankly it's covered with a mattress pad and a sheet when I sleep on it so I'm just not freaking out about it.
I'm much more grossed out by sitting in airplane seats and Metro seats and doctor's office waiting rooms.
And my back feels great these days with the new mattress. I wouldn't have been able to afford the non floor model version.
PP here. All of these things gross me out too!
+1 It isn't like people are doing anything illicit or gross on the store model bed. Unlike when you go to a hotel and sleep on beds there ...
