same here - no lottery. everyone really knows what they are doing there - you kid will be in good hands and will learn tons and love learning it.

Not directly - but my kid's cubby is outside the 1st grade classroom, and from what I see, the kids are incredibly engaged and doing cool things (drawing anatomy of the digestive track) considering that many were new to Montessori when they entered just 7 months ago. All my interactions with this teacher have been so fantastic that I am already ready to lobby hard for my child to be in her class when the time comes.
Please don't "lobby hard" for your kid to be in a particular class.
She does seem great.
NP, not sure about "lobbying hard" but I don't see any harm in asking. Of course, I think we can expect that when lower el expands and more teachers are hired, that they will also be awesome.
pp (the lobby hard one). I was not altogether serious though I do think she'd be a great match for my kid, who needs a playful but very firm hand to guide.
