OP, you have too much time on your hands. Maybe double down at work instead of ruminating about this kind of crap?

If he is otherwise good to you, kind, caring, respects your feelings, etc., I would write it off to a man not paying attention to details. If this were all I had to worry about in my marriage, I'd be ecstatic! Now if it is part of a bigger picture of him not being interested in you, your life, who you are, then it's a larger concern.

My DH only knows in the very broadest sense where I work/what I do. And since I change projects every 6 months or so, he doesn't always know the team I'm currently working with or topic. We don't talk about work much - not enough time (or interest).

Equally, I don't really know which department he works in ... I could guess but I'm really not that interested.

Our marriage is going very well, though.

So, OP, I wouldn't think twice about it.

DW has been a partner in her company for 20 years and her actual title has changed a few times. I have no idea what is is now, or what she actually does day to day. If someone asks I say "she's a partner in XYZ Marketing and Communications." If they press me about what she does there, I say "I dunno, marketing and communications."

I manage an entire IT department. If someone asked DW what I did she'd say, "I dunno, computer stuff?"
